You may remember Lydia and Bob from their fantastic engagement session at Sky Meadows State Park. Back then, I talked about how the couple enjoyed being outdoors and was very environmentally minded. They carried this theme through to their wedding, where they planned an event with little to no waste and used vendors with the same ethics. I LOVED this idea and it was great to see it put into practice. The couple’s ceremony was held at the Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast, in Middleburg VA. They wrote their own vows, which were recited at the base of a huge tree on a beautiful day. Bob’s vows in particular made me a little teary, which is highly unusual for me! They were a little offbeat, something I’d never heard before, but they totally made sense and were perfect for Lydia.
The reception featured food from Eat and Smile, one of the only caterers in the area who uses organic and sustainable products. Bob is a home brewer and brewed all the beer for the reception, while Lydia made the bouquets from dried herbs and the centerpieces from fresh apples and pinecones. Rounding out the reception was a coffee bar, the photo booth, and tunes by Mike Bell of My Deejay. I think it’s safe to say a fabulous time was had by all–congratulations Lydia & Bob! We wish you many years of happiness together!
